- An appreciation for the demands of parenting.
- An appreciation for family differences.
- Write a philosophy and mission statement that reflects the needs of families.
- Make accommodations as necessary to support families.
ACTIVITY:
- Develop an interview format.
- Interview parents of children attending the "Little Eagles Preschool".
- Analyze results and share conclusions with class.
- Publish results in a parent newsletter.
HOW WILL THIS LESSON BE REVIEWED AND EVALUATED?
- Improved communication between high school students and parents.
- Quality of interviews.
- Quality of newsletter sent to parents.
- Changes made in the lab facility i.e. "Little Eagles Preschool" that incorporate
what was learned from the interviews.
OTHER COMMENTS:
This lesson could be adjusted to any group of parents with the results being a
greater understanding between generations.
